| Life After a Miscarriage | Excessive bleeding, infection, which affect up to 10% of women, who have miscarried, are considered to be the most common complications of a miscarriage. Though, it is normal, if a woman experiences mild or moderate vaginal bleeding for no longer than two weeks after she suffered a miscarriage, though the bleeding should not become severe.
In case if a woman has recently been treated for a miscarriage, and if she is experiencing severe vaginal bleeding and signs of shock, she is to call her doctor, 911, or any other emergency service immediately. In addition, it is necessary to inform the woman’s doctor, in case if she has recently been treated for a miscarriage and if she is experiencing the following symptoms: Severe vaginal bleeding without any sign of shock. If the doctor does not or can not respond immediately, or in case if a woman does not have any health professional, then she should have someone drive her to the nearest emergency room; Symptoms of infection, which include the following signs: Pain in the abdominal area and cramping, which range from moderate to severe; Fever of 100.4 F or higher; Smelly vaginal discharge.
After a woman has suffered a miscarriage, it is normal that she will have to go through a grieving process, no matter what was her pregnancy term. Feelings of guilt, sadness, anxiety are considered to be normal reactions after a miscarriage, though, it is also normal to have a desire to find out what could become the possible reason of a miscarriage. The duration and intensity of the grief is different from woman to woman, however, most women find that they can return to their everyday life in quite a short period of time. Still, in case if a woman has any symptoms of depression, which last longer than two weeks, in this case she should better let her doctor know about it. In addition, it should be pointed out, that the loss, as well as the hormonal swings, which occur after a miscarriage, can possibly become the reason of a postpartum depression.
However, any woman should realize, that in most cases a miscarriage is a natural even, which was not possible to prevent. A woman should think of meeting with some support group, reading about the experience of other mothers, as well as talking to friends or to a counselor, in order to help her and her family cope with the loss. In addition, there should be books on coping with the miscarriage problem in the local bookshop or in the nearest library, as well as the doctor may be able to address all her questions and concerns about the miscarriage.

In about 75% of women, who are conducted testing, no obvious reason of recurrent miscarriage is found; however, in accordance with some studies, up to 70% of couples, who suffered from recurrent miscarriages, go on to have a baby without any treatment conducted. It is quite possible that a woman, who has had a miscarriage, and who even suffered from several miscarriages in a row to have a healthy, full – term pregnancy and to deliver a normal baby.
