Travel While Pregnant

During the first pregnancy trimester any woman should try to avoid going somewhere in the early morning, which can make all her pregnancy symptoms: nausea, morning sickness, etc. worse. Therefore, in case if a woman does not feel well, she should better keep from traveling, she can. It is also possible to try to carry a lemon slice everywhere and smell it every time, a woman feels that there is something wrong with her, though it can get a bit rough after some while. Any pregnant woman may also try to use Sea Bands, which will trigger a pressure point on the wrist, and this will stop nausea. However, there are plenty of future mothers, who simply do not want to leave their doctor during early pregnancy because there is somewhat higher risk of miscarriage during the first trimester, and in case if an emergency comes up, a woman may not want to visit just anybody, but only her treating doctor, she trusts.

Second Trimester
Second pregnancy trimester is truly considered to be the golden time for traveling. The woman’s frequent bathroom breaks have died down by that time, as well as, such pregnancy unpleasant symptoms, as morning sickness and nausea have most likely passed on by this time. In addition, the possibility of miscarriage is not the highest concern, as its risk has dropped tremendously. The only thing a future mother, who is going to travel anywhere, should do is to make sure to take plenty of healthy food and drinks with her and get enough of stretching time. Besides, she should be feeling pretty good and really enjoy herself during her vacation period.

Third Trimester
During this period of time the risk of premature delivery becomes the greatest concern for nearly every pregnant woman, who is traveling anywhere. This is the reason why it is extremely necessary to have a medical contact at her destination point. Moreover, every future mother is to be sure that her health insurance is valid and that it will cover her newborn baby (in case if it occurs, of course) yet before they decide to go.

A woman during her third pregnancy trimester may also find out that sitting in any cramped confined chair does really blow and not in the cards. Anyway, being cramped either in a car or in a little airplane seat 7 or 8 months pregnant is not the least bit comfortable or relaxing.
However, if a woman experiences one of the complications, mentioned below, it means that her pregnancy is referred to high – risk ones, and then she should better avoid getting somewhere. To the most general pregnancy complications belong:
• Any problem, connected with cervix, such as “incompetent cervix”, etc;
• Vaginal bleeding;
• Pregnancy with twins, triplets or other higher order multipels;
• In case if a pregnant woman is older than 35 and this pregnancy is her first one;
• If a pregnant woman suffers or suffered from gestational diabetes;
• If a pregnant woman suffers or suffered from high blood pressure;
• If a pregnant woman suffers or suffered from pre – eclampsia;
• Any abnormalities of the baby place (placenta);
• If a woman has already experienced at least one miscarriage before;
• If a woman has experienced at least one ectopic pregnancy before;
• In case if a woman delivered at least one baby prematurely before.
