Early Signs of Pregnancy

Pregnancy is a part of life of nearly every woman. It’s a period of bid changes of your body, character and relationships. The society treats you differently now. Your husband will be gentler to you; you’ll feel care from every person you meet. Now you are not just a woman and a wife, you’ll soon become a mother. That means you will bear the complete responsibility for the life of another person – your native child. For the majority of women this period is the happiest time of their lives, as they imagine their babies, talk to them, and play with them. But for some future mothers it is an uneasy period of morning sickness, headaches, skin problems and other unpleasant changes. Still they should remember, this will end soon, and holding your baby on your arms will make it forget all bad things on earth!

Many women experience them within days of conception, others take a few weeks before pregnancy symptoms kick in and a lucky few feel no discomfort at all. The early pregnancy symptoms can be felt once implantation occurs (8 - 10 days from ovulation) and will lessen after the first trimester.

Some pregnancy symptoms are similar to those that occur right before menstruating. Combined with high temperatures and a longer luteal phase - they are key indications that you are pregnant! And here are some other symptoms:

  • Missed Period is the first and the most acute sign of you being pregnant. But still it does not mean that you are. Wait for several days or buy a test in the Drugstore.
  • Nausea and Vomiting. Many women experience illness in the morning (morning sickness), others feel nausea throughout the entire day. To lessen it, you should eat small frequent meals, and snack on saltine crackers. If you feel sickness in the morning, don’t get up right after you awaked, stay in bed for about 15 minutes.
  • Breast Tenderness. Breasts become very tender, swollen and start to enlarge. The veins within the breast are more visible now. Your nipples darken in color, become more erect sensitive.
  • Frequent Urination. Many women start to feel this symptom within a week or two after pregnancy has occurred.
  • Feeling Tired. It is pretty obvious. When pregnant your body is going through some major hormonal changes. Your temperature is also higher due to the amount progesterone circulating through your body which makes you feel a little sluggish.
  • Dizziness and/or Fainting. When standing in one place you may feel dizzy or even faint; skipping meals or going too long without eating may cause the same.
  • Constipation. Pregnancy hormones will slow down bowel functions to give maximum absorption time of vitamins and nutrients. To lower it you should drink plenty of liquid (8 to 10 glasses per day); eat apples, figs, dried apricots and grapes.
  •  Your smell may become extremely sensitive.

Of course, if you think you might be pregnant you should see your doctor.
