Cervical is something, which has anything to do with any kind of neck, including the neck on which the head is perched and the neck of the uterus. The very word “cervix” is translated as “neck” from Latin.

Cervical cap is called a soft cup with a round rim, which is designed with the aim to fit snugly around the cervix and act as a barrier, made of rubber. It is one of the contraceptive devices. A spermicide may be applied to the cervical cap before it is inserted in order to kill sperm.

Cervix is the lower part of the uterus, which gets extended into the vagina.

Cesarean section / cesarean delivery is the way of delivery of a baby not through the vagina, but through an abdominal incision.

Chadwick’s sign is some dark – blue or even purple discoloration of the mucous of the vagina as well as of cervix during pregnancy.

Chlamydia is one of the sexually transmitted venereal diseases.

Chloasma is the term, which is used to describe extensive brown patches, irregular in shape and size, which may appear on the face or on other parts of the pregnant woman’s body.

Chorionic villus sampling is a kind of a test, which is usually performed during first pregnancy trimester in order to determine possible abnormalities of pregnancy as well as of fetus development. To conduct this test, it is necessary to take a biopsy of tissue from inside the uterus through the cervical opening.

Chromosomes are called the cellular structures, which contain the genes.

Colostrum is called thin fluid, yellow in colour, which precedes woman’s milk. Sometimes it is even called the first milk. As a rule, colostrums appears by the end of pregnancy. It is quite different in content from real breast milk, which gets produced later after the baby’s arrival.

Complication is called any additional problem, which arises during some procedure, treatment or illness and it is considered to be secondary to it. A complication complicates the situation.

Conception is called the union of sperm and the ovum, synonymous with the term “fertilization”, as well as the very onset of pregnancy, which is marked by the implantation of the blastocyst into the endometrium.
